A ban on the production of petrol and diesel cars is set to be in place by 2030, so if you’re looking at making the switch, Dean suggests it might something to consider sooner rather than later.

Consider the cost of MOTs, servicing and repairs
Most new cars won’t require an MOT or service for three years which is particularly handy if you choose to lease, rather than buy outright. However, do keep in mind that – once they need annual checks - larger cars requiring more specialised parts and services will always cost more to maintain.
