Exclusive Services Days

Exclusive Services Days

More than 45,000 workers in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces are being offered special discounted days out at some of the country’s top family attractions.

Blue Light Card has organised several days on which its members can book heavily discounted tickets for theme parks including THORPE PARK resort and Chessington World of Adventures.

The Services Days will see the parks open exclusively to members of the scheme and their families. Each day will be closed to the general public, allowing those attending to take full advantage of smaller crowds and faster service.

Created to give thanks to workers in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and the armed forces, the events are all being held in March and November at resorts run by Merlin Entertainments.

The five theme parks taking part are Alton Towers Resort, the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, Chessington World of Adventures, Warwick Castle and THORPE PARK resort.

Blue Light Card members are encouraged to act quickly, as the Service Days tickets for Alton Towers Resort, Chessington World of Adventures and the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort sold out in record time. However, tickets are still available for the exclusive days at THORPE PARK resort, and Warwick Castle.

Blue Light Card CEO Tom Dalby said:

“We know that the last few years have been particularly hard on our members and their families, as they’ve continued to go above and beyond to keep our communities healthy, safe and supported throughout the pandemic.

“We're extremely grateful to be working with Merlin Entertainments to give back to NHS staff, emergency service providers and social care workers with our exclusive Services Day events, and we hope those taking part make the most of their well-deserved day off. To extend our token of thanks, we’re also delighted to be donating all proceeds from these event days to charitable projects and initiatives that improve the mental and physical wellbeing of our members.”

The tickets cost from £12, with parking included and 20% off selected food and drink, while accommodation at the resorts is also heavily discounted. The proceeds will be donated to charities associated with Blue Light Card.

Will Obbard, Director of Sales at Merlin Entertainments, added:

“To be able to offer these days to people who have worked so incredibly hard to keep us all healthy and safe over the past 12 months is a privilege. We’re pleased to bring a day of thrills and adventure to these workers and their families. And, the fact that Blue Light Card are also giving the proceeds to various associated charities makes the whole scheme even more worthwhile.”
