Five cities you're visiting this summer

Given the dedication required to work within the blue light community and the intensity commonly experienced on-shift; it’s vital that members take time to recharge and rejuvenate with a well-deserved break.

What better excuse therefore than to enjoy a top day out, cheeky long weekend or even a week-long city break with your friends or family?

Where are our members off to?

Today, we’re helping you find ways to relax or plan your next big adventure with a heads up on the top five cities our members are planning to visit this summer! We asked our members where you’re considering this summer and – surprisingly – found that nearly half of you are thinking about having a UK break rather than going on holiday abroad.

London

Unsurprisingly, 1 in 5 of members surveyed claim to be planning to visit the UK’s capital this summer.

So, whether you’re planning on  taking in a show, doing a bit of shopping or are just heading down for a top night out on the town, why not ensure a hassle-free holiday experience and visit London for less by using our example itinerary to maximise your time and money?

Edinburgh

Closely following our number one slot on where members want to go is Edinburgh!

For a blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Edinburgh is a must-visit destination. Take a guided tour through the cobbled streets of the Old Town, climb the Royal Mile and experience the essence of Scotland’s capital, and enjoy breath-taking views of the city from Arthur's Seat, or – alternatively – why not treat yourself to a ticket to one of the many festivals and immerse yourself in the amazing art and culture on offer!

York

Located halfway between our first and second cities and third on the list is York – a city that claims to have more attractions per square mile than any other in the UK!

From the National Railway Museum to the JORVIK Viking Centre, York has tonnes to do! Plus, don’t forget to make time to explore the famed Shambles market to bag a bargain and try delicious street food every single day!

Oxford

Take a walking tour, visit the university colleges and punt along the river, or enjoy a picnic at a botanical garden or one of the many fantastic parks when you visit Oxford this summer.

With amazing architecture, unique attractions and a superb range of independent shops and cafes alongside all your high street favourites, it’s no wonder that this city is 4th most popular for where our members are planning to go!

Manchester

Home of internationally famed sports teams, amazing attractions and an even better arts and music scene, Manchester is our 5th most popular must-visit city this summer!

Visit Old Trafford, take a canal and river cruise, explore the set of Coronation Street or treat your family to a fab meal out at one of your favourite restaurants. There’s no better time to pack your bags and get ready for a summer getaway like no other!
