Gym and exercise discounts

Oct 5, 2020Read time: 2 minutes

Each week throughout October, we’re bringing you a selection of deals and offers designed to put a smile on your face.

Though it might feel hard to stay positive at times, it’s really important to prioritise your wellbeing. This could be keeping fit and exercising, eating good, healthy food, or learning a new way to relax and unwind.

This week, we’re thinking about exercise.

Getting your heart rate up might be the last thing you feel like doing, but we promise, when times feel tough and it’s cold and rainy outside - it will be worth it.

The NHS recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise a week. Though that might sound like a lot - there are ways to break it up and make it fun to fit in around your lifestyle.

Moderate activity could be brisk walking, riding a bike or even pushing a lawn mower - so going for a 20 minute walk every day will hit this quota for you really easily. Ditch the car and walk to the shops if you’ve only got a short list!

Vigorous activity includes team sports (which admittedly are more tricky right now, but while we are left to our own devices, try walking up the stairs, online aerobics classes or simply going for a jog - much more accessible!

This week it’s also World Mental Health Day, and exercise has been clinically proven to support mental wellbeing. As well as helping your body stay fit and healthy, exercise releases endorphins, chemicals which actually make you feel happy!

Here are some of our great offers which we hope will help you on your exercise journey:

• Pure Gym – 10% off membership and no joining fee

• Les Mills on demand – just £8.95 a month a free 14 day trial

• Echelon Fitness - £110 off

Keep your eyes peeled as more offers are published next week to help you Live Life Well.
