Who can access Blue Light Card discounts as a retiree?

Retired frontline workers with at least 4 years tenure from NHS, Social Care, Teaching, Police, Fire, Armed Forces and other eligible groups can sign up as a member and access all our great offers and discounts. You can check your own eligibility using this online tool.

I’m retired - so what do I need to have if I want to sign up for a Blue Light Card?

To join Blue Light Card, retired members will need to provide:

• Proof of service pension, such as an NHS pensionor

• Private pension document (if above not relevant/applicable)

• Proof of 4 years+ employment.

How much does a Blue Light Card cost?

A Blue Light Card costs £4.99 for two years, giving you access to thousands of discounts both online and in-store.

How much could Blue Light Card members save per year?

On average, members could save £3,126 a year with their Blue Light Card.*

Are retiree discounts available online and in-store?

Many partners allow both online and in-store redemption. Check each offer’s terms for details.

I am already a BLC holder but will be retiring very soon – will I need to reapply?

If you have already been verified in the same service and have held a Blue Light Card for four years or more, you can switch to a retired membership at your renewal date without any further / additional verification checks.

If these conditions don’t apply, you will need to re-verify with the relevant documents at your membership renewal date.
