Blue Light Card is nothing without the brilliant businesses we partner with, and we want as many independent local companies as possible to join and connect with our community of more than 5.8 million frontline workers.
Local companies start offering discounts to bring more people to your door and give back to our frontline community. Should we get started?
Here we’ll cover the most common questions people ask us.
Remember - we are here to support small businesses so If you can’t find your question here, contact us here and we’ll do our best to help.
It's free! All we ask is for you to provide a genuine offer to our members that is better than your standard prices.
This scheme is for independent local retailers with no more than 4 shops. We don't accept listings that promote gambling, tobacco or businesses regulated by FCA, CQC or SRA
It’s a great time to join as a local Blue Light Card partner. We’re introducing new tools such as our new Business Hub to make it easier for you to manage your offers, keep your business details up to date, and make sure your offer is visible to our members in your local area.
Once you’ve signed up:
We also have a Local Partner Help Centre with guidance on common questions, and our team is always here if you need support.
Your offer will appear in the ‘Offers Near You’ section of the Blue Light Card app when a member is close to your business location (within 20 miles).
When a member selects your business, they will see:
This is the main screen members use to check what your offer includes before deciding to visit your business or make a purchase. Keeping your offer details clear and up to date will help members understand and use your promotion.
It all depends what you’re offering, how strong your offer is and how much competition you have in your area. The deeper the discount, the more people we’d expect to take you up on it. As you can list your offers and update them with us for free, you could experiment and find out what works for you.
We’d always advise our local retailers to make sure their offers are profitable, even if the levels of redemption take you by surprise. You can keep redemption levels under control by offering limited time offers, like “10% off in November for Blue Light Card members”
Your offer will look like the example here.
If you’re an existing partner and have received a Business Hub login email, you can access your account using your existing details via this link.
We’re rolling the Business Hub out to partners in stages, so if you haven’t received your login details just yet, don’t worry - you’ll be invited to join soon.
As long as your business has no more than 4 locations, it is possible to list multiple addresses. Any offers added must be made available across all locations. To do this please contact us and select 'Add include the addresses of all locations you wish to list in your enquiry.
We’re working on giving small businesses access to the live map to check your listings and we aim for this to be available in early 2026.
Current and retired frontline workers. The full list of qualifying services is here.
Members are asked to confirm their eligibility every 2 years.
Check they have a valid Blue Light Card.
Members are sent a new card every two years, with an expiry date printed clearly on the front.
If they don’t have their physical card, they can access a digital version on the Blue Light Card app. See image of what the card looks like here.
Your listing will be available on our app to anyone in your local area, so it should attract new customers to your business.
The type of offer you give can impact whether you attract new customers or increase the spend of your regulars.
