To celebrate the offer, we asked our community for their go-to Pret orders, dream menu items and hottest sandwich takes. Turns out the Blue Light Card community is very passionate about Pret... our member Kieron put it better than we could:
"Pret is not afraid to celebrate sandwiches. They champion them as something to savour."
Our members’ love for great-tasting, freshly made food clearly runs deep! Read on to hear our community’s hot takes, menu recommendations and fantasy Pret sandwich flavours.

Here’s what you told us you order the most:
"The Chicken Satay Baguette. It’s an amazing flavour combination, especially the chili salt.
– Natalie, Education
"I go for the Tuna and Cucumber Sandwich every time – it’s elite. Unless you've got an early morning, in which case it's got to be a sausage bap."
– Nicky, Prison service
Meanwhile, member Kieron may work in defence, but we reckon he’d make an excellent food critic:
"The New Yorker Rye Roll is always a winner. The malty bread offsets the sharpness in the pickle and the salty beefy brilliance."
– Kieron, MOD
This one came from Blue Light Card’s very own Partner Manager (and Pret’s biggest fan), Alice:
"Hidden gem alert: Pret’s brownie slices at the till. So fudgy! Also, a coconut milk iced mocha. Lush!"
- Alice, Blue Light Card
Allen seems to agree on the sweeter side of things:
“I get a large coffee and a cookie. Caffeine and sugar to keep me going until the next eating occasion! I just love a huge, chewy, moist rich cookie.”
– Allen, Social care
Thanks to Allen, we’ll now be using “next eating occasion” as an official unit of time.
Our members also shouted out more Pret favourites: the Chef’s Italian Chicken Salad for its tasty dressing, the Cinnamon Crown (which is a “must-purchase”) and the Egg & Spinach protein pot. All in all, a real variety of flavours to keep our front lines running.

We asked what sandwich you would put on the menu if you could. Pret, take note (and maybe proceed with caution).
Social care worker Henry went straight in with some Japanese menu inspiration:
“I’d love to see a chicken katsu baguette at Pret.”
- Henry, Social care
Defence worker Kieron demands justice for British classics:
“The good old fish finger butty. It’s a British working-class hero and should be celebrated rather than something to be embarrassed about, alongside the much-maligned crisp butty.”
- Kieron, MOD
Enya from the NHS is in agreement:
“A hot fish finger sandwich with salt and vinegar crisps is a must for any menu!!”
- Enya, NHS
Gary from the MOD is emphatic that “We need more minted lamb options,” but he faces sharp critique from Iain in the Ambulance service. “You want minted lamb,” Iain says. “Not all of us.” Savage.
Meanwhile, our member Paul is dreaming up a recipe full of Scottish spirit:
“A haggis, neeps and potatoes wrap. A mini-meal.”
- Paul, NHS
We also love Allen’s sweet-toothed vision of a pudding sandwich:
“Chocolate and hazelnut spread with cherry jam, on sweet, enriched chocolate chip brioche bread... so dreamy.”
- Allen, Social care
Iain has got his mind on the sweeter combinations, too:
“Anything with kimchi... Or how about peanut butter, banana and crispy maple bacon? That’s a sandwich almost fit for a king.”
- Iain, Social care
Well, we’ve got good news for you, Iain! Pret’s newest Chef’s Special (an extra-special recipe baguette that’s only around for a few weeks) has landed – the Kimchi BLT Baguette. Head to Pret to give it a try.
Peanut butter gets another vote from Nihal, albeit with some wacky pairings:
“Don't judge me, but I would like some sort of peanut butter, cheese and sweet dill pickle situation going on. Don't knock it till you try it! Also, can we get a Vietnamese Banh Mi back on the menu?”
– Nihal, UX Researcher at Blue Light Card
We’re judging a little, Nihal. But we also want to try it.
Some of your opinions were stronger than Pret’s double-shot espresso. Henry, who works in social care, says:
“My hot take is that Pret makes much better coffee than Costa and Starbucks.”
- Henry, Social care
Joanne is also passionate that Pret is winning the competition on the drinks front.
“Pret’s own brand canned soft drinks are great quality, unique and value for money compared to competitors.”
- Joanne, Education
Many of your other hot takes are also about underrated favourites:
“The Big Apple Bowl is scrumptious and NOT just for breakfast.”
– Sharon, Education
“Egg mayo may be boring to some, but it’s the best to me.”
– Michelle, Social care
“The Pret soups and salads are the best menu options.”
– Charlotte, Fire service

One topic revealed some brie-and-cranberry devotees among our frontline members: the hallowed Pret Christmas menu.
We heard from lots of members who love the Christmas options so much, they wish they were available all year:
“I’m firmly in the Roy Wood and Wizard category of wishing it could be Christmas every day at Pret. After all, a pig in blanket is for life, not just for Christmas.”
– Kieron, MOD
“The Veggie Christmas sandwich should be available all year round. Crispy onions in a sandwich? Absolute game changer.”
– Alice, Blue Light Card
“I'd love for the brie, cranberry and spinach ciabatta to be on the menu all year around.”
– Tahir, NHS
Note the amount of passion in Chloe’s exclamation marks:
“The brie, pistachio and cranberry baguettes should be available all year around!!!”
– Chloe, Social Care
“Would love Pret's turkey and cranberry sandwich to be all year around.”
– Joanna, Education
Not everyone agreed, though.
“I don't think the Christmas menu should be available all year, as then it wouldn't be special.”
– Sarah, Education
Scott from the NHS takes a balanced approach. He doesn’t need turkey in the summer, but he wouldn’t mind if Christmas came early.
“I love the turkey, cranberry and stuffing sandwich. I don't think it should be available all year, but definitely much earlier in the year!”
– Scott, NHS
