Blue Light Card is nothing without the brilliant businesses we partner with, and we want as many independent local companies as possible to join and connect with our community of more than 5.8 million frontline workers.
Local companies start offering discounts to bring more people to your door and give back to our frontline community. Should we get started?
Welcome to the Blue Light Card Local Partners Help Centre. Here you can find answers to common questions about managing your Blue Light Card offer, updating your business details and promoting your partnership.
If a customer is unable to show a valid, in-date Blue Light Card (either physical or digital), you should not honour the offer.
All members must present a valid card at the time of purchase to redeem a local offer.
When you create an offer, you can choose the date it will expire. At the moment, offers do not renew automatically, so you will need to monitor the expiry date and add a new offer if you would like it to continue. We are working on improvements so that you will receive an automated notification when your offer expires, making this easier to manage in the future.
Top Tip: We recommend setting a reminder in your calendar a few days before the expiry date so you can add a new offer without any gaps in visibility.
To redeem an offer, a Blue Light Card or Defence Discount Service member must show a valid Blue Light Card. This can be either a physical card or a digital card displayed in the Blue Light Card app.
There is no need for a discount code, voucher, or additional webpage - simply checking the valid card is sufficient.
When adding your business in the Business Hub, you can choose whether your offer is available to:
Who these groups include:
Blue Light Card members
NHS, emergency services, social workers, armed forces and teachers.
Defence Discount Service members
Armed forces, veterans and the armed forces community.
Top Tip: If you select both BLC and DDS, make sure your offer description and terms and conditions clearly mention both groups.
This helps avoid confusion at the point of redemption.
If you’re using the new Business Hub, you can add a location by pasting your Google Maps link into the Business location section.
Step by step
That’s it. Your location will be added automatically.
Top Tip: Make sure you select the exact business listing before copying the link, not just the search results page.
To help members find your business on the map, we may ask for your location coordinates. These are two numbers:
Using Google Maps on a computer
Example:
51.5074, -0.1278
Latitude = 51.5074
Longitude = -0.1278
Using Google Maps on a mobile phone
Open the Google Maps app
If you have access to the Business Hub, you can follow the link in your original email and select ‘Remove my Business’ below the sign-in page.

Once you’ve signed up and your offer is live on the Blue Light Card and/or Defence Discount Service platform, you’ll receive a confirmation email. This email includes a link to request your merchandise. Simply follow the link to order your free window stickers.
To list your business with your logo, we require this image to be uploaded as either a jpg or png file. Your logo should be a minimum 640 × 320 pixels (a landscape rectangle).
Most logos taken from your website, Facebook page or Google listing are already large enough. In most cases you can upload your logo as it is and our system will resize it for you as long as it meets the minimum size.
Top Tip: To check the size on Windows on a computer:
Right-click the image → Properties → Details → check the Dimensions
If the width is 640 pixels or more, your logo is suitable.
When adding your business as a local partner, we ask for a website link so we can verify your business details.
If you don’t have a dedicated website, a link to your Facebook or Instagram business page is absolutely fine.
We’re also working on further improvements that will allow members to access your website directly from the Blue Light Card app, making it easier for them to view your products and services before visiting.
Our local partner scheme is available to businesses with four or fewer locations.
If your business has more than four locations and you’re interested in partnering with Blue Light Card, please contact us at Corporate@bluelightcard.co.uk to discuss direct partnership opportunities.
Many of our local partners also have online stores and would like to offer discounts to their local communities.
At the moment, our local partner scheme focuses on in-store offers, which are redeemed by Blue Light Card or Defence Discount Service members presenting a valid physical or digital card at the point of purchase.
If this changes in future, we’ll be sure to update partners.
